Ways We Serve

At Norwalk First United Methodist Church, we believe God calls us to put our faith into action by serving others with open hearts and willing hands. Our Missions Ministry reaches beyond the walls of our church to meet real needs, build relationships, offer hope, and share the love of Jesus with our community and beyond. Through ministries such as our Blessing Box, Donny's Closet, community dinners, blood drives, youth mission projects, disaster response, health and wellness programs, and partnerships with local organizations, we strive to be the hands and feet of Christ. Whether we are providing a meal, lending a helping hand, sending grief baskets, offering encouragement, or responding to a need, we believe every act of service can make a difference and every person matters.

Donny's Closet
Community Outreach

Donny's Closet

Donny's Closet provides personal hygiene products and everyday essentials to individuals and families in our community who may be facing difficult circumstances. No ID, paperwork, or verification is required. We believe everyone deserves to have their basic needs met with dignity, compassion, and without judgment. What may seem like a small item can make a meaningful difference to someone in need.

Food Ministry

Blessing Box

Our Blessing Box is a little pantry with a big purpose. Located just outside Norwalk First United Methodist Church on Main St., it provides free food and everyday essentials to anyone in our community who may need a helping hand. Take what you need, and if you are able, leave something for someone else. Through this simple ministry, we seek to share God's love, kindness, and care with our neighbors-one blessing at a time.

Community Dinner
Monthly Fellowship

Community Dinner

Our Community Dinner is a free home cooked meal open to everyone in our community. Held on the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m., it is more than a meal-it is a place to enjoy good food, fellowship, friendship, and a welcoming atmosphere. No reservations, ID, or verification are required, and everyone is welcome. Through this ministry, we hope to nourish both body and spirit while sharing God's love with our neighbors.

Blood Drive
Community Health

Blood Drive

We host a blood drive every 3rd Monday of the month from 1:30-7:00 p.m. in partnership with the American Red Cross. Giving blood is a simple and meaningful way to help save lives in our community. Registration is available through the
American Red Cross website.

Grief Share

GriefShare

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone. Our weekly seminar and support group is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You'll gain access to valuable resources to help you face the confusion and pain of losing a loved one, moving you forward toward rebuilding your life. Tea, Talk and Art

Tea, Talk and Art Series

Our Tea, Talk, and Art program provides a welcoming, relaxed space where community members gather to connect over creative expression, share faith experiences, engage in meaningful health education and warm conversation. Each session pairs educational presentations, a casual art activity that is accessible to all skill levels with a comforting cup of tea, coffee and other delicious light offerings. We encourage participants to unwind, share stories and build meaningful relationships while raising self care awareness and fostering a supportive, faith filled environment.
